In recent weeks, we visited our partners in Austria and Slovenia to discuss future opportunities for cooperation.
The United World Games (UWG) is Europe’s largest youth sports competition. Since 2015, every year more than 10,000 young athletes from around 40 countries have taken part in the event that is organized in Klagenfurt with the patronage of UNESCO. From year to year, the leaders of the UWG strive to expand the range of competitive games with new and exciting sports, so they were happy to receive the WSB Federation’s proposal for cooperation.
The WSB Federation’s representatives discussed with the head of the United World Games about how Water Skyball fits into the program of the 2023 competition, and about further possible cooperation at the event.
We also visited the Institute Popotnik in Ljubljana, home of the Slovenian team of the Erasmus+ Sport program that is coordinated by the WSB Federation. Last summer’s WSB Roadshow in Slovenia proved to be very popular, and the Slovenian partners opened a discussion about further promoting Water Skyball and about the organization of other WSB sports opportunities. As part of the visit, we assessed possible WSB training locations in Ljubljana, and the head of the ŠUS Eurofitness Sports Center also expressed his intention to cooperate.
